ISSARA THAI'S SPICY CHALLENGE...
...YES! It's achievable
Congratulations to Robert Uyeyama, the first winner of our spicy challenge.
Here is the post from Rob on our Facebook.
Rob: "Thanks Chef, it was very memorable! Thanks so much!
The waiter said the noodles were maybe at a 20 on the
1-10 scale, painful but edible and enjoyable-- I would
order something on a 15 when I am back in town to be
more comfortable... but I think the soup was too much,
maybe a 60 or 80, definitely on another level, and it was
so huge too. If it was a quarter of its size I think that
would be enough for your spicy challenge, since it
would test the mouth's tolerance plenty without having
to continue to down more than a pint of the stuff (not
enjoyable) and make the stomach try to take it. All in all
very entertaining, thanks for a great time!"
Check out our Video and if you think you can handle the heat, come to try out and be the next person on our Hall of Flame. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK :)

***No need to print out a flyer. Pink wristbands will be given out to those who mention the fundraiser to the host.

EAT FOR A CURE FOR JULIE SOU!
OCTOBER 20, 2012 @6PM-9PM
Julie Sou needs our help to fund her advanced treatment for stage IV metastatic breast cancer at the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, TX. She is 28 years old and has been fighting the cancer for over a year; which, has now spread to her bones. Although she now lives in San Antonio, TX, when she lived in San Diego, she was well-known and well-loved by all who crossed paths with her.
The goal, $20,000 (although treatment costs could be as much as $50,000, depending on duration of treatment), includes treatment expenses, medication, and travel/housing to stay in Houston during the treatment. Her plan is to do it in December 2012-January 2013 when she is on break from school.
Issara Thai has agreed to donate 25% of proceeds generated by the event to help fund her treatment.
Join us on October 20, 2012 from 6pm-9pm for:
- YUMMY THAI FOOD
- Local beers on tap
- Raffle prizes and giveaways every hour

BooOOo- I see Ghosts
Kenny Pong - October 2012
I see a ghost... a ghost chili in my delicious Kra Pow Pork. A couple of days ago, a co-worker brought in the Infamous "Ghost Chili" to work, and an idea of a Spicy Challenge popped up here at Issara Thai. New recipes are in the works, the ISSARA CHALLENGE will begin sometime in November. Stay connected for updates.
